My journey with God at Girl Talk was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Loving women all on different
paths of their journey and all had the same desire of, “More God less of me. The tears and love
were everywhere. God walked me through my fear of chairing a meeting and I was able to share
some deep truths about myself and heal more. I got to see my sponsor in action and I learned
how a sane sober mind woman loves in a room full of women. My spiritual growth has really
grown and I am forever grateful. My cup was overflowing. Vannoy shared that my upbringing
in alcoholism was dark, cold, and ugly as alcoholism is, but today I have the tools to treat it. I
have compassion and love for all whom are affected by it. My parents did the best they could in
the midst of the disease. And, all the “uglies” weren’t on purpose. Thank God for Al-Anon, my
sponsor, and Girl Talk – a cozy place to heal with God.

I got asked to help lead a workshop on Love and Forgiveness at Girl Talk. I really prayed to
make sure that this was something I was willing to do with God’s help. With Al-Anon materials
and prayer, I found words to share that truly helped me with my son. I truly accepted myself as I
am and my son as he is…detaching with love one day at a time."
